The Ten Gods Atlas

Compare Peer, Rob Wealth, Eating God, Hurting Officer, Wealth, Authority, and Resource roles by relationship, polarity, and chart questions.

Short answer: The Ten Gods (十神) are ten technical relationships formed by comparing another Heavenly Stem with the Day Master (日干). First identify the other Stem's relationship to the Day Master within the Five Elements (五行). Then compare their Yin-Yang polarities (陰陽). The result names what that Stem does relative to the chart's reference point.

They are not deities, ten personality types, or a cosmic staff directory. The word "Gods" is a conventional translation. Qiora keeps the established names and explains the job behind each one.

Same and different polarity are calculation categories. "Direct" is not automatically good, conventional, or honest. "Indirect" is not automatically bad, shady, or weaker.

How to use each profile

Each profile answers four questions:

How is the role formed?
What function does the name point toward?
What should you inspect in the chart?
What does the label fail to prove?

Start with supplied chart data. Do not pick the name that sounds like you. A Ten God label comes from the Day Master relationship, not a vibe check.

Companion Stars

Companion Stars share the Day Master's element. They bring the reading back to identity, peers, similarity, cooperation, comparison, and competition.

Peer

Formation: the same element and the same polarity as the Day Master.

Peer marks an exact match in both element and polarity. Because each element-polarity pair corresponds to only one Heavenly Stem, another Peer Stem must be the same Stem as the Day Master. Use the role to examine equals, mirrors, colleagues, siblings, allies, or competitors without treating any one of those people as guaranteed.

Ask where similarity creates support and where it creates duplication. Check position, roots, and whether the chart was reviewed as a Strong Day Master (身强) or Weak Day Master (身弱). The same Peer can support one configuration and crowd another.

Atlas question: Where does an equal reinforce this chart, and where does it crowd the field?

Peer does not prove confidence, selfishness, friendship, sibling luck, or leadership.

Rob Wealth

Formation: the same element with different polarity from the Day Master.

The dramatic name describes the other Companion relationship. It can point toward shared resources, social exchange, alliances, rivalry, or competition for the same pool. It does not announce a thief in the building.

Ask what is shared, who has access, and whether boundaries are clear. Then check whether Companion energy supports the Day Master or adds to an excess. Money claims require the full Wealth network and real financial context.

Rob Wealth does not prove theft, bankruptcy, generosity, charisma, betrayal, or financial loss.

Output Stars

Output Stars are produced by the Day Master. They describe what moves outward through expression, work, ideas, craft, performance, or tangible results. Producing output also draws from the source.

Eating God

Formation: produced by the Day Master with the same polarity.

Eating God is the same-polarity Output role. Traditional readings connect it with sustained production, enjoyment, nourishment, craft, and output that can continue without constant confrontation.

Ask what the Day Master produces, whether it has enough capacity to produce it, and where the result goes next. Output can relieve excess, but it can also drain a Day Master that lacks support.

Atlas question: What can this chart produce steadily, and what does production cost?

Eating God does not prove culinary talent, artistic genius, fertility, comfort, appetite, or an easy life.

Hurting Officer

Formation: produced by the Day Master with different polarity.

Hurting Officer is the other Output role. The classical name points to expression that can challenge rules or authority. Depending on the chart, that may describe critique, invention, candor, refusal, or friction.

Ask what is being expressed and which Authority role receives the challenge. Check whether the output is useful, timed well, and supported. A label alone cannot decide whether dissent is brave, careless, necessary, or irrelevant.

Atlas question: What is this output questioning, and can it improve the structure it challenges?

Hurting Officer does not prove rebellion, rudeness, creativity, legal trouble, job conflict, or violence.

Wealth Stars

Wealth Stars are elements controlled by the Day Master. "Wealth" describes what the Day Master manages, directs, exchanges, or takes responsibility for. It is not a bank-balance forecast.

Indirect Wealth

Formation: controlled by the Day Master with the same polarity.

Indirect Wealth is the same-polarity Wealth role. It often directs attention toward flexible exchange, wider networks, circulating opportunities, project resources, or assets that require active handling.

Ask what can be managed in practice and whether the Day Master has the capacity to manage it. Check support, timing, position, and the Output that may produce Wealth. Opportunity without capacity can become workload.

Atlas question: What resource is moving through a wider network, and who can manage the movement?

Indirect Wealth does not prove windfalls, entrepreneurship, risk tolerance, a business career, generosity, or unstable income.

Direct Wealth

Formation: controlled by the Day Master with different polarity.

Direct Wealth is the different-polarity Wealth role. Traditional readings often use it for defined resources, recurring exchange, stewardship, budgeting, and obligations with clearer ownership.

Ask what must be maintained, accounted for, or delivered consistently. Then check whether the Day Master is strong enough for the responsibility and whether other roles support or disrupt the arrangement.

Atlas question: What resource needs steady stewardship, and what keeps the agreement clear?

Direct Wealth does not prove a salary, thrift, marriage, property, honesty, or guaranteed financial stability.

Authority Stars

Authority Stars control the Day Master. They describe rules, standards, duty, pressure, accountability, constraint, and the structures that ask something of the self.

Seven Killings

Formation: controls the Day Master with the same polarity.

Seven Killings is the same-polarity Authority role. The name sounds like a crime series, but the technical relationship simply describes same-polarity Authority pressure acting on the Day Master.

Ask what demand is arriving, whether the Day Master can carry it, and what turns pressure into directed action. Check Resource and Output relationships before deciding whether the pressure disciplines, mobilizes, overwhelms, or gets redirected.

Seven Killings does not predict death, violence, danger, courage, military work, illness, or a harsh personality.

Direct Officer

Formation: controls the Day Master with different polarity.

Direct Officer is the different-polarity Authority role. It often points toward defined standards, official roles, procedure, responsibility, and accountability within a recognizable structure.

Ask which rule applies, who grants authority, and whether the structure is legitimate and workable. A title without support may feel empty; a useful standard may organize the chart's efforts.

Direct Officer does not prove obedience, status, government work, promotion, morality, marriage, or legal success.

Resource Stars

Resource Stars produce the Day Master. They describe input, learning, protection, recovery, permission, memory, and the support that helps the self continue.

Indirect Resource

Formation: produces the Day Master with the same polarity.

Indirect Resource is the same-polarity Resource role. It may direct attention toward specialized input, unconventional learning, selective support, private study, or knowledge that arrives through a less standard route.

Ask what kind of input reaches the Day Master and whether it can be used. Support can restore, but too much input can delay output or keep the chart circling in preparation.

Atlas question: What unusual source of support is available, and can it become usable knowledge?

Indirect Resource does not prove intuition, spirituality, eccentricity, isolation, academic difficulty, or a nontraditional career.

Direct Resource

Formation: produces the Day Master with different polarity.

Direct Resource is the different-polarity Resource role. Traditional readings connect it with recognized learning, documentation, protection, instruction, recovery, and support delivered through established channels.

Ask what teaches, protects, or restores the Day Master. Then check whether the support improves capacity or postpones action. A library card is useful; living permanently behind the return desk is a separate choice.

Atlas question: What reliable input supports this chart, and when is it time to use what was learned?

Direct Resource does not prove degrees, maternal support, reputation, intelligence, good health, or institutional approval.

Read a role in context

Every Ten God needs an address, a source, and a condition.

Which visible Stem or supplied Hidden Stem (地藏干) carries it?
Is it natal, or was it introduced by a timing layer?
Is the underlying Stem rooted and seasonally supported?
Which underlying elements generate, control, or drain it?
Which supplied Stem or Branch interaction affects it?
Can the Day Master carry the relationship under the reviewed strength judgment?

Ten God labels do not themselves combine or clash; the underlying Stems and Branches do. Generation can support the receiver while draining the source. Control can regulate, redirect, or overwhelm. A role name therefore does not tell you by itself whether the relationship is favorable or usable.

Counts do not answer those questions. One supported Wealth Star can function more strongly than three weakly placed ones. A label absent from the visible row may appear in supplied Hidden Stems or a later timing layer, but absence is not automatically a defect.

Chart Structure (格局) and Useful God (用神) are school-dependent judgments that must be supplied by a reviewed method. Do not infer either from a favorite Ten God, a count, or a group name. Kinship interpretation also requires the supplied gender and positional rules; one Ten God cannot prove a spouse, parent, child, or family outcome.

Find the Ten Gods on Qiora

On Qiora's current Four Pillars grid, the upper cell in each column is a Stem and the lower cell is a Branch; tap either cell to open its details. In Korean, the small top label on a non-Day-Master cell shows its Ten God. In English, the small top label is an archetype name, so open the cell and read the Ten God row instead. The Day Master cell is labeled D.Master in English and 일간 in Korean; its detail chip reads Day Master · Self or 일간 · 나 자신. It is the reference point, not one of the ten roles.

The Ten God shown for a Branch follows that Branch's Main Qi (本氣). Supplied Hidden Stem data may add a Middle Qi (中氣) and Residual Qi (餘氣), each with its own Ten God relationship. Not every Branch contains all three positions, and the positions are not a universal 60:30:10 formula. A Main Qi display label does not mean that the Branch contains only one role.

The copied Basic prompt lists Ten Gods for the visible Year, Month, and Hour Stems, while the Day Stem is marked as the Day Master; it does not supply Branch Ten Gods or the full Hidden Stems. Premium may add each Branch's Main, Middle, and Residual Qi, their Ten Gods, weighted group power, strength, Chart Structure, Useful God, detected interactions, Special Stars (神煞), and Luck Pillars (大運). Use a field only when the locked packet actually supplies it; otherwise write not provided. Do not invent a missing role from a Branch animal or a Five Elements bar.

If birth time is unknown, both public Hour cells remain ?, but copied Basic and Premium prompts may still contain an estimated Hour calculated from the internal noon fallback with True Solar Time turned off. Noon is not the recorded birth time, and the fallback's time-zone basis is provisional when birthplace and time zone were not collected.

The Basic Hour-Stem Ten God is provisional. In Premium, every Hour Hidden-Stem role and every advanced judgment using that fallback is provisional too. Exclude them from confirmed group counts. If the actual birth may have occurred around Qiora's 23:00 Early Rat Day boundary, or if the recorded local date, birthplace, or time zone is uncertain, the Day Master and every Ten God label must be treated as provisional and recalculated. Check Ipchun and monthly Solar Term boundaries for affected Year and Month labels as well.

Reverse the two Stems once as a calculation check only. When reversed, an Output relationship becomes a Resource relationship, and a Wealth relationship becomes an Authority relationship. Peer and Rob Wealth remain unchanged because same-element relationships are symmetric. Do not recenter the actual chart. The real Ten Gods always remain anchored to the original Day Master.

Quick questions

Are the Ten Gods actual gods?

No. They are ten technical relationship labels centered on the Day Master.

Which Ten God is best?

None in isolation. Usefulness depends on the whole chart, timing, and the question being asked.

Do Direct roles mean good and Indirect roles mean bad?

No. Direct and Indirect distinguish polarity relationships. They are not moral grades or strength rankings.

Do more Wealth Stars mean more money?

No. Counts do not measure usable strength, financial skill, income, or future wealth.

Why does a Branch show only one Ten God?

Qiora's visible Branch label follows the Main Qi. Supplied Hidden Stems can add roles from the Middle Qi and Residual Qi.

Can unknown birth time change my Ten Gods?

Yes. Hour roles are provisional when the time is unknown. If the Day Master remains verified, it can still anchor confirmed Year, Month, and Day relationships. If the possible birth time crosses Qiora's 23:00 Early Rat boundary, however, the Day Master itself may change and every Ten God must be recalculated. Verify the calendar, birthplace-derived time zone, Ipchun, monthly Solar Term, and Day boundaries.

Source and editorial notes

Qiora uses the exact Ten Gods names in its English terminology dictionary.

Fixed personality, career, money, health, gender, kinship, and event predictions from single labels were excluded.
The source book contains inconsistent polarity descriptions in several passages; the Qiora SSOT mapping takes priority.
